Thank you for taking an interest in the European Stone Festival, the meeting place for stone masons and stone carvers from all over Europe.

What is the European Stone Festival?

From 29th of June to 1st of July 2012, we will be welcoming up to 150 stonemasons and stone carvers from all over Europe to Trondheim, where they will have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and creativity to a wide audience.
Since the festival took place for the first time at the end of the 1990s in Freiburg, it has become an annual event and has been hosted by a variety of European countries.
Trondheim is closely associated with stone masonry through its world-famous Cathedral, Nidarosdomen. The organiser of this year's festival will be the Restoration Workshop of Nidaros Cathedral. Click on Invitation for further details.

What is on offer for our visitors to the festival?

The visitors will have the unique opportunity to experience the work of the stonemason at close quarters. In addition, the festival will be presenting the fascinating world of art and stone - with demonstrations, exhibitions, stone carving for the visitors, an exciting Supporting programme and supervised activities to keep the children happy.
